Angelica Vanasse has spent 20 years making and holding space for creativity and connection – in communities, in landscapes, and in the in-between places where people and nature meet. Her work is shaped by the seasonal cycles of growth, change, abundance and regeneration, with permaculture as a guiding principle: everything is connected, and what we create should reflect that.
She's also a baker, a gardener and a self-proclaimed pancake lover – which is to say, she brings a warmth and groundedness to everything she does, whether that's a community art project, a strategic cultural initiative, or a piece of work made from materials gathered along a coastline.
In Hvide Sande, Angelica will be exploring the landscape, collecting the pieces she finds along the way, and making art that reflects the particular character of this place and this moment. Entry is free – so come and say hello, and let yourself be part of what she's making.
At the end of June and into early July, ART56° welcomes Angelica Vanasse – a visual and participatory artist whose practice is rooted in nature, creativity and the spaces where communities come alive. Her open studio is exactly that: open. Come as you are, stay as long as you like, and see what unfolds.
