Late Summer Festival
Every year in August, Hvide Sande welcomes visitors to a week of classical music at the Late Summer Festival.

The Late Summer Festival was established in 2014, when it was held with great success at the Royal Danish Theatre in Copenhagen...

With the vision of offering both locals and tourists a high-quality classical music experience, the organisers decided in 2016 that Hvide Sande would be the setting – with the aim of helping to reduce cultural inequality in Denmark.

The organisers behind the festival, Anette and Helge Slaatto, have fallen in love with Hvide Sande, the nature and the way everything works in the area – so it is only natural for them to keep the festival here.

Are there limits to where in Denmark classical music can be experienced?

We have taken up the fight against prejudice and tradition and invite you to a series of unique concerts between the sea and the fjord.

The west coast of Jutland offers a “sea” of opportunities and attractions – this is certainly true of the harbour town of Hvide Sande, where Danish and German guests in particular spend their holidays every year in the many holiday homes in the dune landscape along the North Sea. The range of activities on offer for guests and locals alike is wide, from water sports and fishing to culinary experiences. Since 2015, the Late Summer Festival has been held in Hvide Sande, which is also home to the annual Hvide Sande Masterclass, which shares the vision of bringing classical music of the highest standard to the very edge of Denmark.
