Just prior to reaching Søndervig by A15 you can see a beautiful sight in the direction of the fjord: a sky filled with colourful kites.
These kites are used by the kite surfers on Ringkøbing Fjord by Søndervig. The kitesurfers consider this one of the best areas for kitesurfing in northern Europe. The surfers use their kites and the wind to power their movement across the fjord and to jump and turn.

The area around Søndervig attracts kitesurfers from April until late October. What attracts them is the large area with shallow water and safety from the wind. This makes it possible for both beginners and experts to have fun in the wind and on the water.

The sky southeast of Søndervig is filled with kites all summer long. It is a beautiful sight to behold from a distance or close up from the water’s edge.
