WELCOME WITH DOGS
Søndervig is happy to have guests - including their four-legged friends and around the shops there are water bowls for the thirsty doggies when they have had a brisk walk by the sea and in some of them the dog is even welcome inside. At Meny Søndervig you can also visit the dog bar, where there is sure to be something to drink.
Information
Dog-friendly holiday homes
The possibilities of renting a holiday home or hotel room where the dog is welcome are good, so definitely bring the dog along. However, just to be safe, check whether it must be in the house you are looking at. From there, the dog can move in, perhaps with its own basket, and can feel at home with the family. And no one has reason to feel guilty. Søndervig offers plenty of opportunities for long walks and fun outdoor experiences for both dog and owner.
Let the dogs loose on the beach
The wide, white sandy beaches are wonderful playgrounds in the winter from 1 October to 31 March. During that time, the dog does not need to be on a leash on the beach, as long as you are sure that you can call it to you. There are, however, certain beaches where dogs must always be on a lead - and also some areas where, due to the vulnerable flora and fauna, dogs are not allowed at all. Therefore, pay attention to the signage at the site.

Good advice and rules for dog owners
Some children and adults are afraid of dogs, so even if you know that your dog just wants to say hello and have a little sniff, you must remember to pay attention to whether the other holiday guests want to greet it. Show consideration so that everyone can travel safely everywhere. Another thing you as a dog owner must remember is to pick up the dog's remains in a plastic bag and throw it in a bin.
Dog forests
There are five dog forests around Ringkøbing Fjord. Here you can let the dog run around freely if you can call it to you. The dog forests are very different, some are very large and have tables and benches, others are quite small. Some are also used by joggers and mountain bikers.
