Amber smith have been in the six square metre hobby amber workshop on Badevej in Søndervig since 1933
Today the third generation of amber smiths, in the person of 78-year-old Birthe Madsen (2012), sits by the machine creating amber jewellery, earrings, bracelets and necklaces as well as bottle openers, wine corks, letter openers, small forks, etc.
The little amber workshop also has an exhibition and collection of amber containing various insects and a huge amber clump weighing 590 grams.
The big clump of amber was bought by Birthe´s father from a local fisherman when Birthe was a little girl. The big pice of amber is NOT for sale.
Individual jewellery can be commissioned if it is possible for Birthe Madsen to produce. Please enquire for further information.
You are always welcome to drop by. Ring the bell if the shop is closed!
