Abeline’s Gaard invites you to Christmas cheer on December 28.
You can experience a wreck master’s farm with Christmas decorations. You can meet a so-called goulash baron – a rich merchant who earned money by selling food (of sometimes dubitable quality) to the soldiers at the front during the World War I. He can tell you why he spends his holiday by the west coast. You can also learn about Christmas traditions of the 1920s.
The old wreck master’s farm is in its Christmas finery. The Christmas tree is hung with handmade paper cones, the new and modern angel hair, and the new electric Christmas lights.
The wreck master will welcome you and tell you about the tough life in Holmsland Klit with storms and shipwrecks. Have a chat with the goulash baron and hear about the early days of tourism and the new inventions (big and small) in the beginning of the 20th century.
Come and say hello to the Christmas elf maker. You can also see how lace is made and get tips on how to get started with lace-making at home. You can also see traditional Danish black pots (“jydepotter”) and stoneware.
There are warm waffles, gløgg and other goodies to help satisfy your appetite.
Open from 11 am to 5 pm.
